Are you ready to design and create your own arcade game? In this hands-on, fun-filled summer school class, you’ll learn how to build your very own retro-inspired arcade game from the ground up! This course will teach you the skills you need to create your own game, just like the ones you’ve played at the arcade!

Art Explorers

GRADE LEVEL: Students entering 5th-8th Grade in the Fall of 2025

Period: 2

Class Fee $15

Students will use a variety of materials and engaging hands-on techniques, students will explore the wide world of art.  Artists of all abilities will have the opportunity to let their imaginations run free in an environment that focuses on creativity and fun!

Basketball Skills

This exciting and dynamic basketball skills course is designed for students who want to develop their game and have fun on the court. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or an intermediate player aiming to enhance your skills, this course will help you take your basketball abilities to the next level. Throughout the course, students will focus on essential skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and basketball IQ. Join us on the court to have fun, improve your game, and grow as a basketball player!​​​​

Contain Your Excitement

GRADE LEVEL: Students entering 4th-8th Grade in the Fall of 2025

Social Studies by the Box! Kings & Queens? Ancient Rome? U.S. Presidents? World War II? Native Americans? Ancient Egypt? What Social Studies topic are you interested in? World History? U.S. History? Mrs. A. will provide a super fun way to get to know people, places, and events of history. I will make suggestions and provide the SS Box that contains all you need to learn the who, what, and when. Each student individually will choose a SS Box based on  interest. Don't see a SS Box that interests you? Create your own! Want to add to what is already in a SS Box? Go ahead and share your creative ideas! There are tons of topics. Historical landmarks around the world? Our USA national parks and monuments? Pearl Harbor? The Titanic? Stonehenge? Famous people - Thomas Edison, Rosa Parks, Ben Franklin, Sacagawea, King Tut, Hatshepsut... you tell me! We will read books, make crafts, create Google slides, make posters, and use your ideas to share the excitement for all of the cool history we will learn together! Join me this summer!

Digital Art and Design

An adventurous course for Middle School students to dive into Greek History as if scripted by the Greek Gods themselves.  Students should be prepared to use their own skills and knowledge as they complete daily missions to compete for the Gold.

Gym Games Galore

GRADE LEVEL: Students entering 6th-8th Grade in the Fall of 2025

Class Fee $15

Enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities in Fun in the Sun. We will spend the majority of our time playing softball, kickball, capture the flag, tag games, and much more! Bring sunscreen and a water bottle and get your exercise playing fun games and soaking up the sun of the summer.​​​

Helping Hands

GRADE LEVEL: Students entering 7th-8th Grade in the Fall of 2025

Period: 1, 2, 3

Class Fee $10

The Helping Hands Summer School class provides students with the opportunity to grow as leaders while helping younger students learn and thrive in a supportive environment. As a Student Leader or Student Helper, you will assist teachers, engage with fellow students, and create with kids.

*Open to 8 students. We are looking for people who are interested in working with kids and are good role models. Summer school coordinators will place students in a summer school course to assist. Summer school coordinators have the right to remove a student from helping hands and place them in a grade level course if there is a behavior issue.

Outdoor Field Sports

Class Fee $10

Enjoy learning outside playing a vast array of games such as; Capture the Flag, Frisbee Golf, Whiffle Ball, Golf swing basics, Outdoor Basketball, football and more. On a rainy day, enjoy movies and a snack.​

Readers Theater

GRADE LEVEL: Students entering 5th-8th Grade in the Fall of 2025

Step into the spotlight and discover the magic of storytelling through Reader’s Theater! In this interactive and engaging summer school class, students will learn how to bring scripts to life through expressive reading and performance, all while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork.

Robotics - Build and Design

GRADE LEVEL: Students entering 5th-8th Grade in the Fall of 2025

Period: 1

Class Fee $30

Put your problem solving, patience and expertise to the test as you build your own Mech5 Mechanical Coding Robot. With five different modes, your bot will compete in solo and group challenges as well as allow you to let your imagine soar.  In addition to your Mech5, you’ll be introduced to Vex & First Robotics to gain skills that will put you on a pathway towards becoming a Arrowhead 706 Cyberhawk.

Special Education Reading and Math

GRADE LEVEL: Students entering 5th-8th Grade in Fall of 2025

Period: 2 

Class Fee $5

Students enrolled are recommended by their special education teacher. Small group instruction that targets IEP goals in reading and math is meant to maintain skills gained during the school year. Some support is available for general education classes.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

This class is a real hit! Students will design their own wiffle ball bat.  Once your bat is ready, it’s time to hit the field! You and your friends will enjoy playing wiffle ball, testing out your creations, and experiencing the thrill of the game together. This class is perfect for anyone looking to get active, unleash their creativity, and have a blast with friends this summer. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to the game, you’re sure to have a ball!

Tech Time Out

Join us for a unique summer adventure that combines learning, creativity, and fun—all without the use of technology! In this hands-on course, students will engage in a variety of exciting activities designed to inspire imagination and build teamwork skills. From games and journaling, to arts and crafts, each day will offer a new opportunity to explore, create, and have fun with friends. This course offers a refreshing break from screen time, encouraging students to disconnect from technology while engaging in interactive, enriching activities. Volleyball Skills

One of the most challenging sports that you can enjoy for a long time is volleyball. If you’re in sixth, seventh, or eighth grade and want to learn more and improve your volleyball skills then this is the class for you. We will learn the basics, scrimmage, and have fun.

Yoga, Mindfulness and Sunshine

GRADE LEVEL: Students entering 5th-8th Grade in the Fall of 2025

Class Fee $22

​Learn how to be a healthier you! Stretch your body, improve your balance, and have fun practicing yoga and mindfulness all in the sunshine! In this class, we will be learning new yoga poses, mindfulness basics, and spending time outside in the sunshine, all while building attention span, self-control, and compassion. Yoga mats will be provided and taken home at the end of the session.
